Current Gallery: geomemory ( piece)
This is a gallery of images produced using a self-made computer program that translate moves, displacements or gesture in digital prints. Merging the real and the virtual, Geomemory presents itself as a progressive system of prints which gradually appear on the infrathin surface of the computer screen. With a video camera, I can produce images made by an addition of successive layers. These images appear as the result of an interaction between the physical presence of the user’s body (or his/her environment) and the system, which, in opposition, works in an intangible space. Recording all disruption’s traces, as minimal as they may be, Geomemory shows difference as an unfailing visual sign. Consequently, with time, the system enters in a state of entropy : tracks are blured, the unique print is doomed to disapear. How then, can we, through complexity and saturation, distinguish uniqueness and detail? You can make those abstract prints concrete by buying and printing them, Artist: Pierre-Luc Lapointe Text source : Geneviève Loiselle
