These works had to do more specifically with a modern view of impressionism. I wanted to portray the same contrast between what is perceived up close versus at a distance. However, I've added 1 or 2 more perceptual zones with moving focal points which help to signify new zones of field: at very close field, instead of the painting breaking down into pieces of color, I wanted to break down into highly detailed insets or mini-compositions; at nearfield distance, the insets then combine to form a singlular, albeit hyper-detailed composition; farther back, some detail falls away and rewards the viewer with realism; farther afield still, the realism then transitions into abstraction. Enjoy.
